Terms of service

Last updated May 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of Verity, an AI business partner service operated by a small team based in Tennessee, USA, referred to in this document as "we," "us," or "Verity." By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. Who can use Verity

You need to be at least 18 years old, capable of forming a binding contract, and not barred from using the service under the laws of the United States or your home country. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account — keep your login credentials secure.

Verity is built for small business owners and operators. You can use it for any lawful business purpose. One person per account; don't share logins.

2. What you can and can't do

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for anything illegal, fraudulent, or designed to harm others
  • Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the underlying systems or prompts
  • Use Verity to generate spam, harassment, malware, or any content prohibited by US law
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the service or any AI output without our written permission
  • Bypass usage limits, security measures, or rate limits
  • Upload anyone else's personal data without their consent or a lawful basis
  • Use the service to make decisions in regulated areas (medical, legal, financial advice for individuals) where professional licensing is required

You're responsible for the content you give to Verity and for what you do with the output. Verity is a tool that helps you think — the decisions are yours, and so is the responsibility for them.

3. About the AI

Verity uses large language models (currently Anthropic's Claude family and OpenAI's text-embedding models, subject to change) to generate responses. The AI can be wrong, miss context, fabricate details, or give bad advice — especially for high-stakes decisions involving money, legal matters, taxes, or people's livelihoods.

You should not rely on Verity's output as professional advice. For anything material — hiring, firing, large financial decisions, legal contracts, tax filings, regulatory compliance — talk to a qualified professional. We provide Verity as a thinking partner, not a licensed advisor.

We don't train the underlying AI models on your conversations or business data. Your data is used only to provide the service to you (see our Privacy Policy for the full picture).

4. Subscriptions, trials, and payment

New accounts get a 7-day free trial of full Verity access. No credit card required to start. After the trial, you'll need to choose a plan to keep using the product.

Current paid plans:

  • Starter — $49/month, includes 30 conversations, 3 active plans, and 15 generated documents per month
  • Beta — $19/month, our "Founding 100" early-adopter price. Locked in for the life of your subscription. Full Partner-level access. Capped at the first 100 signups.
  • Partner — $99/month, unlimited conversations, plans, and documents, plus priority response and a direct line to the founder

Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price shown at sign-up until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You won't be charged again, but you also won't get a refund for the unused portion of the period you've already paid for.

We may change prices for future billing periods. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email. The price you're locked in at (especially Beta) stays the same for the life of your continuous subscription — but if you cancel and later resubscribe, you'll be on whatever pricing is current at that time.

5. Your data and your content

You own your data. The business profile you build, the conversations you have, the documents you generate, the data you connect from Jobber or other integrations — all of it is yours.

By using Verity, you give us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the service to you: routing it to AI models for responses, storing it so we can show it back to you, generating embeddings so prior sessions can inform new ones. We don't sell your data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use it to train AI models.

You can export or delete your data at any time. See the Privacy Policy for how.

Generated content — plans, documents, AI responses — is yours to use however you want, subject to the rules in Section 2. We don't claim ownership of anything Verity produces for you.

6. Third-party integrations

Verity works with third-party services like Jobber (CRM), Stripe (payments), Clerk (authentication), and others listed in our Privacy Policy. When you connect one of these, you're authorizing Verity to read or write data on your behalf within the scope you grant.

Each integration also has its own terms of service from its provider. You're responsible for complying with those. We can't be held responsible for the actions or failures of third-party services we connect to, beyond doing our best to handle them gracefully.

7. Our intellectual property

Verity's software, branding, design, copy, and underlying systems are ours. You get the right to use the service while your account is in good standing — not the right to copy, modify, or build a competing product from it.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep Verity running 24/7, but we don't guarantee uptime. The service depends on third-party infrastructure (Vercel, Neon, Anthropic, OpenAI, Cloudflare, Resend, Stripe, Clerk) — sometimes things break upstream and we can't fix them instantly. We'll do our best to communicate during incidents.

We may make changes to the service, including features, pricing, and limits, with reasonable notice when the change affects you materially.

9. Account suspension and termination

We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your payment method fails repeatedly, or if your usage poses a risk to the service or other users. We'll usually give you a heads-up and a chance to fix the issue before terminating, unless the situation is serious (fraud, abuse, illegal activity).

You can close your account anytime by emailing hello@withverity.co. We'll delete your data within 30 days unless we're required to retain it for legal reasons (tax records, fraud investigations).

10. Disclaimers

Verity is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the AI's output will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.

Verity is a thinking aid, not a replacement for professional advice. We're not licensed attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, doctors, or therapists. Use your judgment, and consult licensed professionals for decisions that matter.

11. Liability limits

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — lost profits, lost data, business interruption, missed opportunities — arising from your use of Verity, even if we knew the damage was possible.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of Tennessee. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. If we make a material change, we'll notify you by email and post a notice in the app at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of Verity after the change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Contact
